Having grown up painting, I decided to do the "practical thing" and pursue a degree in graphic design.  In 1990 I received my BFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I worked as a graphic designer for many years, but eventually came back to my painting roots by working on commissioned paintings and murals. I've been an active part of the arts community in the Augusta, Georgia area for many years now, presiding over two non-profit art community art groups, helping run a co-operative art gallery, organizing events and festivals, teaching classes, and helping other artists pursue their artistic goals.

In 2018 I completed my Master of Fine Art degree with a concentration in Studio Art. Since then I have been blessed with several collegiate teaching positions and have been part of the faculty at Augusta University since 2019 where I teach Painting, Drawing and Art Appreciation classes.
